7/04/2004 - Steve, you're a great guy with great skills, you're gonna do great.
You've most likely already seen this, but it's great. Read these. Batjew is hilarious. The best one is #10, because all semblance of sense is lost for a few words. I just now listened to that Audiopost we just made. I was cringeing all the way through it. If you guys want us to stop those, just say so. I MADE the shit, and I can't stand it. Saw the Michel Moore movie on Friday. It was okay. Learned some stuff, bt it was all portrayed rather biasedly. Then again, what did you expect? Rating: Would rather have seen Spider-Man 2. Expect a part two to this post tomorrow. ----- PART TWO: TOMORROW. No, you didn't miss my posting of part one, because I forgot to actually post it. BUt you just now read part one, so there. Just got back from Spider-Man 2 on this patriotic date of July 4th. Shall I review? I shall. SPIDER-MAN 2 (2004) Directed by: Sam Raimi Written by: Stan Lee and Steve Dikto Genre: Bunches of them. SPOILERS WILL BE IN RED. Oh, fuck shit this was awesome. First, let's start at the start. When they said it would be darker than the first, they weren't fucking around. There are scenes that would fit right into a horror flick. Example: There's this scene where Doc goes mad on these fools, and the camera work and choreography of everything is fucking creepy, man. No blood, though. You can still take a 7 year old to see it, but it is obviously less sunshine and crackers than the first. There are a lot of throwbacks to the comic, subtle touches that if you pay attention to, you get all giddy and happy. Listen for some character names that get dropped. Acting. The acting was phenominal, every single person fit thier part prfectly, and just like the first film everything seemed realistic, even though there was a man shooting web from his hands wearing red and blue spandex. JJ especially seemed very real this time around for some reason. And if you REALLY, REALLY pay attention, you will see Stan "The Man" Lee. Storywise, a few things bugged me. For one, they really should have spent more time focusing on the relationship between Parker and Octavius. this would've made the ending somewhat more believable. Another thing, They cram at least 20 things that shouldn't happen yet into the last 15 minutes. But overall, it's fucking remarkable how they can pull everything off. You're gonna laugh, and if you're a very emotional person like myself, and you happen to be a little depressed before seeing it, you're gonna cry. I'm talking about this one scene in particular. Spidey and Doc are fighting on top of this subway, and after breaking the train so that it runs at an incredible unstoppable speed, Doc Ock runs off. Spidey, knowing that the rail is a dead end that will head off into the sea, does his fucking best to try and stop the sub. After a few plans not working out, he shoots 20 fucking strands of web onto nearby buildings, attempting to use himself as a barrier. The sub, in a rather overclimatic ending to the scene, stops just at the end of the tracks, and Spidey does not have his mask on. He passes out, and the people on it slowly carry him onto the train, amazed that he's just a kid. Spidey wakes up, and he panicks, because he is sans mask, and there's at least 15-20 people on this train. But then, everyone settles him down, and these two 10 year olds walk to Spidey, one holding his mask. "Don't worry, we won't tell no one". God, you just gotta see the scene. I can't describe this shit. All in all, not as good as the first but REMARKABLY close. I mean, it got damn near up there. They're right next to eachother on my list. Final Rating: 9/10. So anyway. I got a cook-out to go to. See you all later. From here, to right over there. //Greg::5:17 AM EST\ # | |
