  4/21/2004 - I LOVE having Photoshop.

Hehe.

Ok, a couple of things:

Number one, I AM OFFICIALLY GREGTHEPALADIN@GMAIL.COM! CELEBRATE! IT'S A HOLIDAY!

Anyway, i'm sure i'll write a review or something later.

Number two, check this out. Its called Music Plasma. Type a band name into that little search box down there, and it'll give you a bunch of bands that it thinks you would like, based on the criteria of that band. The closer the band, the more alike they are, and he larger the circle, the more popular they are. Very neat.

Prolly more later. But for now, let me nerdgasm over Gmail.

EDIT'D: Gmail First Impressions

Pros:
Lots of webspace, duh.
Easy for someone who's never had webmail before.
Labels (More on that later)
It's GOOGLE. That's cooler than owning a Mac.

Cons:
For me, a long time Yahoo user, the transition was a smidge rough
No "themes" (alternative colorsets)
Sketchy spam filter (at this point)
I've heard of security issues (more on this, too.)

Notes:
A few things about Gmail. First, it's not really like any other e-mail client out there. Thus, the initially rocky transition from Yahoo to this. But I have to say, i'm never using Yahoo again. And with a friggin' gig of storage, i'll never have to. At first, I couldn't find a way to make special folders that I usually sort my mail into, but then I found out how these "Labels" work. It's basically a folder, but an e-mail can have more than one label on it.

I know it sounds stupid, but this astonishes me. Why didn't anyone else think of that?

But, being still in Beta, it has one or two flaws. The spam filer kinda ate some of my stuff I was sending myself from the Yahoo account, and it put some of my newsletters in there too. But now, it knows what I declare as spam, and what isn't, so that seems to work. And I miss having a custon color theme. That's a minor deal, but still kinda cool.

Overall, pretty pwnt.
